This is a really fun wine for many reasons, it tastes great (we will come back to that), but it is shrouded in mystery. It’s made by a winery that sits in the heart of prime Brunello territory, in fact that’s what the estate is known for. They practice organic viticulture, and the grapes come from their highest elevation vineyard…also, they make no mention of making it on their website…it took forever for us to figure out what grape it was! The wine is made from macerated Trebbiano, so true to style it’s a white made like a red. It is less funky than most orange wines; instead it shows preserved citrus and wild, astringent herbs. The bright freshness is met with richness and depth, it’s almost herbal. Definitely one to go with cheese!!
