Yep, you’re seeing this label across the store, and that doesn’t happen often. Another fantastic wine from a producer Colleen and Steve fell in love with when they lived in Friuli. Refosco (yeah, an obscure Italian grape I hadn’t seen before either) is one of Friuli’s indigenous varietals, and it’s so dang good! Ermacora’s take on this historic grape is lush with bright cherry and dark berries that are set in with notes of spice and faint stony minerality with hints of coffee and soft tannins on a finish that is so pleasing. Kermit Lynch once wrote that this wine is “eminently drinkable,” and boy howdy is he right about that!
